Brownies Recipe

Brownies are one of my favourite desserts to make at home, so here is my best recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • - 1 cup sugar
  • - 2 eggs
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • - 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Optional add-ins:

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • - 1/2 cup chopped nuts (I don’t like adding in nut personally but I know a lot of people do)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C and grease an 20x20 cm square baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

2. Melt the butter. Allow it to cool slightly.

3. Stir in the sugar and mix well.

4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and beat the mixture until it becomes smooth.

5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.

6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; you want a fudgy texture.

7. If you want to, fold in chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

8. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20–25 minutes or until you put a toothpick into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not a wet batter).

10. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for a while, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

11. Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares or your preferred shape.

I love having my brownies warm and with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Brownies to me are such a comforting desert so I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
